This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
best movie i've ever seen.
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
"Tee for Two" is an American cartoon from 1945, so this one is already over 70 years old, from the last year of WWII, and this one is another Hanna Barbera production by MGM and here we have of course another Tom and Jerry short film. No dogs or owners in here this time as Tom is humanized again playing golf despite being a cat, but when Jerry resides in the hole Tom wants to get the ball in, chaos ensues. And said chaos includes a little freshly-hatched bird who is far from a rookie though and a swarm of bees who all go up against Tom. There is no intention to eat in here as you would expect from a cat&mouse cartoon, another reference to humanization. Jerry is not too important in here as he really only fight through proxies most of the time against Tom. The golf ball eye-painting scene was fairly funny though I guess. Eventually Tom gets it almost too much here as he did not know he was hitting an egg and the bee attack scene is also almost a bit too violent. Poor cat, who at one point, the shot at the very beginning, is a completely unskilled player, but then shows master calass skills on other occasions. And Jerry's final shot shows he isn't too untalented either. All in all one of the earlier, but not earliest and one of the better, but not best Tom and Jerry cartoons. I give it a thumbs-up and recommend checking it out. A fun watch with nice attention to detail.
I agree it is very simple and has a somewhat predictable story, but Tee for Two is still a very entertaining Tom and Jerry cartoon. I wouldn't dare call this the best Tom and Jerry cartoon, but I enjoyed it very much for what it was. I am not the world's biggest golf fan, but the cartoon made it seem so entertaining and fun. Why? Well the animation is lovely, especially in the backgrounds and colours. The music is nice and energetic. And the sight gags are clever and funny, it is not everyday where you see Tom physically abused by a woodpecker and bees. The cartoon also moves quickly, and both Tom and Jerry are a delight to watch.Overall, a delightful Tom and Jerry cartoon, without it being either the best or worst. 9/10 Bethany Cox
This is a golf story that begins show a golf course being ruined with divots the size of craters. Of course Tom is the guilty party, hacking away - literally. When he finally sinks a putt, the ball pops back up out of the hole! That signals of arrival of Jerry who is underneath in the hole shoving the ball back out.Once out, Tom captures and for awhile the reverse that usually happens occurs: Jerry takes a beating. He gets roughed up in the ball washer, gets used as a tee and as a ball. Finally Tom is the one that gets physically abuse on the course through various means, including bees and a woodpecker! It's typical Tom-and-Jerry trying to kill each other, usually in clever and humorous ways. Golfers will get a bigger kick out of this than others, but everyone should get a fair share of laughs out of it.
Tom the cat is golfing quite horrible, in my humble opinion, and when he finally does manage to miraculously actually get the ball in the hole Jerry the mouse is there to continually pop it out again. This of course infuriates the poor cat. So Tom captures him and uses him as a tee hoping to improve his game. Of course wacky madcap hijinx ensue. This was a fairly amusing short and it was great to see Tom getting some rather good hits in on Jerry, which it seems seldom happened. This great short cartoon can be found on disc one of the Spotlight collection DVD of "Tom & Jerry" My Grade: A-
