why is there no option for zero put of 10? i suppose the only reason could be the DVD could actually be used as a coaster and provide some reason for being. This film is easily the worst thing i have ever, ever seen.........except maybe for Anaconda 3 which made me want to chew my own face off.....there is no start, no middle, no end, no point, nothing good, nothing worth discussing.all i want to know is who i write to in order to get the hour and a half or so of my life back that i wasted in the vain hope that something remotely watchable was going to happen.... which, incidentally, it didn't.

Rottweiler (2004) * (out of 4) THE TERMINATOR, CUJO and a few political thrillers are all thrown together by cult director Yuzna and the end result is pretty bad. Set in Spain in 2018, an American prisoner escapes from prison only to be chased by a sadistic rottweiler who he eventually kills. What he doesn't know is that the dog is a cyborg and keeps coming back to life and will kill whoever gets in its way. Yeah, that's right now. I find it pretty funny that this flick was released in Japan as TERMINATOR 2018 but no matter the title this thing here is a real stinker. It's sad but I knew this film was dead on arrival during the opening prison escape as the special effects were so poorly done that you knew things weren't going to get any better. What shocked me was how much useless plot was in this thing because we've got countless genres going against one another and for the life of me I can't figure out what the director was trying to do. There's certainly a political side to this film and none of it ever makes sense. The American, Dante, is trying to get back to his girlfriend after the two accidentally entered Spain where he would eventually be held captive while she gets sexually assaulted by a madman (Paul Naschy). The political nature of the prison camp and everything else is just pointless and adds absolutely nothing to the film. Even if this political stuff works only fifty-percent that wouldn't be good enough because the horror side of this is also quite poor. The dog is never scary because you can tell when a puppet is being used and his steel teeth just aren't frightening. The entire chase of the dog and the American contains no energy, no flow and is simply boring all together. I'm really not sure why the dog wouldn't just go after his main target or why he needed to kill everyone else around him but at least the film didn't add another subplot trying to give the dog some sort of personality. The idea of a cyborg dog is pretty stupid but this film makes it a lot worse than it should be. Even the performances are all rather forgettable with the exception of horror legend Naschy who gets a decent sized role here.

This film is so dreadful that it is......dreadful. It says something when a dog out acts the rest of the cast. Basically, in 2018, a not-very-bright-or-quick American prisoner named Dante escapes from a Spanish prison camp and is pursued by the indestructible Terminator of the canine world; the eponymous Rottweiler, all metal bones and gnashing teeth. Helicopters also search for him but he hides behind bushes - apparently Infra-Red is a forgotten science by 2018! Oh yes, he is also searching for his ex-girlfriend whilst suffering from memory loss - surely this requires a brain? The acting is simply awful and consists of our hero stumbling around and tripping over every twig, stone or dust particle around. At one point he manages to loose his clothes in the best tradition of the incompetent hero; leaving his gun & clothes 100 yards from where he is naked in the river, allowing the canine jack-the-ripper to get the drop on him! Later he stumbles naked into a farm inhabited by a mother and her little girl. After Dante has a spot of sex with the mother and acquires some trousers, the dog breaks into the house and the trio escape through a window followed closely by the dog; the mother/daughter run towards a cellar that is at least a 100 yards from the house whilst Dante moves 5 yards down a slight slope in the opposite direction expecting the dog to follow him. Instead the dog follows the mother and daughter and catches them at the cellar entrance where it kills the mother after a struggle. Whilst all this is drama is happening, Dante is still stumbling the 5 yards back up the slope!Later, stumbling weakly through a red light district and nursing an injured arm, he still manages to best a perfectly able and fit drugs pusher and five minutes later, after stumbling weakly into an open area and collapsing, learns the fate of his girlfriend and sprints and leaps onto a helicopter that is taking off and causes it to crash and explode with the pooch inside. Apparently, one year before, he allowed the rottweiler to rip apart his screaming girlfriend whilst he stood 5 or 6 paces away wondering what to do. After she was dead he leaped into action and bashed the dog around the head with a short metal pipe. Fast forwarding to the helicopter crash, the rotty's metal skeleton emerges from the blaze for the final showdown. This film is truly terrible; weak script, incompetent direction and acting.I'm just about to watch 'Dust Devil' on Sky's ZoneHorror - it surely cannot be worse......

Since it was Directed by Brian Yuzna who directed Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator I thought I'd try this film out and to my surprise this film is pretty good. The Rottweiler is kind of a cyborg since it's part Dog and part robot that chases and kills prisoners that try to escape. The plot is about a prisoner that was trying to sneak into Spain on a boat with his girlfriend and a bunch of other people but the police surround them so they escape in the water but find the police on the shore, the Boss with with his Rottwieler confront them and after raping his Girlfriend in the van he is attacked by the Rottwieler so he brutally beats the Dog up but the guards shock him and take him away.He then escapes from prison trying to remember what happened to his girlfriend while the Rottwieler he beat is now been improved and is a Cyborg Dog that chases him trying to kill him.The Rottwieler looked similar to The Terminator when it's skin is burnt off and there was some gory scenes when he killed people with his sharp metal teeth.Rottweiler is a very good film to watch on a night.
