You won't be disappointed!
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Troma has always and will forever suck at making a movie line that actually has a true story line and purpose. This is just another juvenile attempt that Troma fans went crazy over, and they'll say "It's one of the best movies eve made!" Yeah, if this is the best movie ever made, than I could probably win a Grammy by taking a video of me taking a poo. It's pathetic and what kills me is people consider this good and think Troma deserves rewards for this BS. Seriously, if this were released by any other film company, this would flat out fail. Oh, but it's Troma, it must special!! WRONG!! It's the same Troma has been doing since the beginning. Troma fails to break any new boundaries. It's just the same sexual and gory elements over and over again, from film to film. Oh and let's not forget the terrible acting. I honestly could not take the acting seriously in this movie what so ever. Troma is know for bad acting, but this takes the cake.Troma kills me, they really do. I wish they would just go away so I wouldn't have to suffer from people saying "OMG, did you see Troma's new film, it's amazing!!!!!!". I hate those people, they wouldn't know a movie it slapped them up side the head. Well, that's it for my ranting, for now at least.
This is probably my first full watch of a Troma movie, and I thought the movie was pretty stupid. I understand they have a cult following, but so does the Insane Clown Possee. You either love it or leave it. From a entertainment-standpoint, though, I wasn't impressed, and I stopped and started the movie multiple times because it would get so stupid and boring. The music was ridiculously bad and obviously donated to the film. I like watching all the strange personalities that run around with the Troma people, but they wouldn't make me watch another Troma movie the same way John Waters had his "Dreamlanders."Overall, it's a very low-scoring film with me, probably around 3 stars since you do get a comedy sketch at the end with Matt Stone and Trey Parker in it.
I really don't know what to say about Terror Firmer. It is nothing like anything I have seen. Terror Firmer keeps the comedy, grit, and gore of other Troma films and then takes it new heights. I started watching this thinking it would just be another typical Troma movie. Which by the way means it would be pretty freaking awesome! Terror Firmer absolutely BLEW my mind. From the comically bloody opening scene to the comically bloody end it was amazing. Not for the faint of heart for sure. I don't get easily grossed out, after all I am a Troma fan, but I had to turn away a couple times. So how would one describe Terror Firmer. Hilarious, disgusting, immoral, vile, crude, obscene, and lewd. So in other words this is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, film ever made.
After the massive success of Tromeo and Juliet, Lloyd Kaufman knew the direction his movies, as well as Troma, needed to go That direction is hardcore exploitation. After all those ridiculous reality shows made it big, Lloyd probably thought, why the hell not? A Troma movie about the production of "a Troma movie", dedicated to all of those who are dedicated to Troma. Lloyd also knew that he had to top Tromeo and Juliet, at least as far as shock value goes. Just one thing, More blood!! More blood!! The director of this "Troma movie" is played by Kaufman himself, Lloyd casting himself as a blind director is too hilarious for words. Trent Haaga makes an electrifying, first impression as Jerry, an over enthusiastic Troma fan who works on the set. Jerry loves B-cinema, especially Troma movies, so, one might appreciate his enthusiasm. Jerry's even met a special lady, Jennifer, on the set, but one problem, a slick, yet creepy, Spielberg/pickle lover, named Casey has eyes for the same girl. Meanwhile, Larry Benjamin (Lloyd) is driving himself crazy trying to unleash one more Troma movie (art) on an unsuspecting world. Things would probably go smoother if not for disgruntled frat boys, a talentless cast, a worthless crew, and all sorts of freaks with all sorts of issues. Normally, directing a Toxic Avenger sequel revolving around rape, and Toxie aborting his mother, would be no problem for a blind man, but now there's a killer on the set, Killing off the cast, hence the fake-looking blood. The police should probably do something, because all of this is screwing up the continuity even worse. Unlike a Baltimore director, who shall remain nameless, Lloyd Kaufman gives his fans exactly what they crave, every single time, Although, this time is some what of an exaggeration of that fact, which is honestly a little scary. To simplify things, Terror Firmer is like The Toxic Avenger meets Pink Flamigo's meets Dead-Alive. I don't care if you have seen them all, you'll feel compelled to look away at least once while viewing this monstrosity. Terror Firmer is everything we love about B-cinema, unrealistic, offensive, sleaze... well, that is what we love, right? That's what I thought. Terror Firmer is the quintessential, cult classic, the finale, closing out the century that gave us B-cinema, and Troma, of course. Thank's again, Lloyd. 10/10
