Nice effects though.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Overall, the plot of this movie is incoherent, mainly because everything changes after the main character attempts suicide. Before the suicide attempt, the mother is absent, weak, distant, her daughter is naive, most characters are shallow and we have no idea of what they think, or what their motivations are. This part is really boring. After the suicide attempt, the mother becomes some sort of political super-hero and vigilante for good against evil, the daughter magically becomes strong and discovers how things work, the motivation behind the behavior of most characters becomes crystal clear, and finally all problems are solved in a totally unrealistic way (the scene of the improvised coalition of victims of bullies). I fully understand that the intentions of the producers of this TV movie were good. They really wanted to tell a caution tale to both kids and parents against the perils of cyber-bullying. But they forgot that spectators do not accept inconstancies in a script. This movie is unrealistic, but it looks like it was on purpose, because the goal is to provide some optimism about a difficult subject and some practical tips for victims, families, and witnesses of (cyber-)bullying.
This film isn't good in the slightest. It was a bad attempt to make an inspirational film, but only to fail miserably with an overly exaggerated plot and brainless story. I do appreciate the message this film is trying to convey, however I couldn't help but be distracted by the poor acting and dumb story. And I said, this film over exaggerates a lot of things. One example is when the mean kids bully Taylor over the internet, I just couldn't help but laugh at the fact the mean kids acted like over the top bullies you see in cartoons back in the day. Same thing with the fact that this film shows the same mean kids make a full out video trying to bully Taylor, which is hilarious considering that I don't think bullies would go through that much effort to hurt someone, unless they truly hated the person. And not only that, but the story itself, while it isn't that bad, is poorly set up and frankly, kind of stupid. I feel like when Samantha was acting as Chris on the internet to bully Taylor, this film should have gave a reason as to why she was doing it earlier than it did. And worst of all, at the end when Taylor and her friends stood up to the mean kids, it didn't seem like much was even solved at all. In fact, the film ends after the mean kids just walk away from the cafeteria. Which makes no sense whatsoever as to how that solved anything, considering that they can still cyber bully since they still have their computers. So this film literally ended on a low note. I mean, sure, it's nice that Taylor and her friends stood up to the mean kids, but considering how the mean kids are, it confuses me to no end. I can't really recommend this to anyone as this film is not only brainless, but due to it being over exaggerated, it's more pointless than not. While this film isn't exactly horrible, you'd be better off watching something else, as this will probably disappoint viewers with its overly cartoonish premise that can leave people feeling silly just from watching this film.
As many fellow IMDb users have said, this film shows cyberbullying in a completely unrealistic and over-exaggerated way. The entire concept of the movie is laughable. The acting is dreadful. It fits into almost every modern cliché.Only reason this monstrosity doesn't get a 1 is due to its reasonable moral that it attempts to teach, and it has apparently done its job to some extent. Overall, there are much better films that successfully grasp the concept of online bullying. If your intent is to teach others or learn yourself about the consequences of cyberbullying through film, look elsewhere immediately. If you want a good movie to laugh at, this is a good choice.
Not sure if my review actually contains any "spoilers" but, just in case... I wasn't very satisfied with the way the characters chose to deal with the situations. I felt like I was watching a very cheesy version of what would happen in real life. It was frustrating to watch so many people not stand up for themselves or others. There are quite a few people who I felt genuinely needed their ass kicked or needed some kind of intelligent karmatic revenge served to them, but were instead dealt with very silently or not at all. The reactions from a lot of the characters were very weak and poorly performed. Overall the movie left me feeling like justice hadn't truly been served and just makes me want to slap some bitches.
