I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
A Masterpiece!
Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Unique idea. Starts out really good. Tons of potential. I had it at about an 8 or so until about halfway through when things just got ridiculous. It went from smart and interesting to completely absurd..and corny..You know those movies where the good guy will shoot someone or do something cool and make some witty reference that makes you cringe? That happens about 10 times in the last half. It's almost like the intelligent director handed off the script to his brain-dead little brother and told him to finish it. I will say though, if you like the whole mental hospital setting in horror movies, give it a go. As I said, the first half is really good and if your opinion on the other half is different than mine..you'll really enjoy it. First half 8 Last half 3 5.5, give it a 6
A man named Jack (Jesse Metcalfe) gets himself admitted to an insane asylum to break out his mentally ill sister Lily (Kiele Sanchez) who was admitted for trying to kill herself. There he discovers that the sadistic head Dr. Gianetti (Peter Stormare) is drugging the patients making them crave human flesh.I thought this movie was very fun to watch. The gore is great and a lot more than I expected, people are stabbed, dismembered, cannibalized, one guy gets a meat cleaver to the head, another gets a knife through the jaw, and much more. The assorted lunatics were also fun to watch, can't really explain why, they just kinda fascinated me.The main character Jack, who's character was pretending to be insane, and was not all too believable sometimes, but who cares! This is a fun and gory movie that makes for an entertaining 80 minutes.
Seeing Callie from The Glades (Kiele Sanchez) and Olivia Munn on the same bill immediately draws my interest. Even Daisy from Bones (Carla Gallo) is looking good until someone rips off her arm and starts eating it. Maybe we'll get to see a lot of each. We certainly get to see Lisa Arturo in all her glory, even covered in blood.Kiele plays the sister (Lily) who is committed in an asylum. Her brother Jack (Jesse Metcalfe) gets himself committed to get her out.Peter Stormare (Fargo) makes a great mad scientist. Kevin Sussman takes a break from running his comic book store in The Big Bang Theory to give a notable performance. If a little blood bothers you, stay far away from this one because there is a whole lot of blood.
Insanitarium was a surprisingly good movie. It started out a little slow and the acting was cheesy at the beginning. The whole idea of faking insanity to get into a sanitarium seemed extremely un-likely, but oh well.It got good! Nancy was a very pretty nurse in the movie. Jesse Metcalfe did an excellent job. It was full of action and suspense and definitely keeps your heart going. There were quite a few very gruesome moments .... drinking a cats blood and eating peoples limbs while they are alive made my stomach quiver a little bit.Good special effects, great acting and a lot of action. A horror movie I give a thumbs up!
