Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

I'm not going to harp on this movie much for its bad animation and choppy characters that look and move an awful lot like the characters in the Heidi series from a few years ago. I'm going to tell you you what is great about this movie.Unlike most movies or shows for kids now a days boxcar children is not obnoxious. It's the calmest and most laid back program I've ever seen for children. It really mellowed out my 5 year old daughter. It was relaxing for she and I both. That's what i loved about this title the most.I wish there were more of these movies to be made. There just aren't enough things for kids to watch that are safe and relaxing as well as watchable.

I've seen many movies made from books in the past, and I will say this one does not let you down. I enjoyed this movie just as much if not more than I enjoyed the book, simply for the artistic depiction of nature that really set the mood. As far as accuracy, the movie hit all the points I would have wanted and expected to remain from the book. The movie as a whole was very well made to cater to the age group of those who would otherwise be reading the book series right now. But it does hold on well for those who read the books during their childhood as well. The only thing I could ask is that A) they could have given the kids more than just a single pair of clothes, and B) They make a sequel that is just as true to the second book as this movie is to the first book.

This movie is a great adaptation of the 1st book in the popular kids series. Fans of the books will appreciate how the movie stays true to the spirit and feel of the book. It is heartwarming and sweet. Even kids (and adults) who are not familiar with these books will love the movie. The story is entertaining, warm and uplifting. The children in the movie are caring and supportive. The positive messages about hard work, creativity, love and family make this a movie parents will be happy to have their kids watch again and again. It's a wonderful movie for the whole family. Hopefully we'll see more from the series.Highly recommend!

The movie is a low budget adaptation of the book. It is a very warm and gentle, even old fashioned kind of film. Very safe and you don't have to worry about your kids watching it over and over as it has a very positive message. Just like in the book, the kids are polite and supportive of each other. They discover that hard work leads to independence and that the most important thing is life is your family. There are one or two mildly scary moments but for the most part this is a movie even little kids can watch with any worries. I wish there were more movies like this being made for kids these days. Also I would recommend reading the book to your kids cause it makes watching the movie even more fun.
