Good movie but grossly overrated
A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
I have seen dozens of horror movies in the past; Zombies and other sorts of dead people walking, dead people eating others, etc. However, only yesterday (August 23, 2012) I watched this movie (i.e. Undead) on TV for the first time, although it was produced and released in 2003, but honestly I found it very silly and weak in all aspects. The story is flimsy, where you feel that a number of different scenes were glued together, without any reasonable connections, and the performance of most - if not all - characters is hackneyed and not convincing.Probably my words are a bit harsh, nevertheless it's true! But by the end, it's a personal opinion and nothing is personal :-)
Worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I will never ever rent this movie ever again, zombies who turn into aliens than back in to humans? come on now. I honestly cannot not believe how STUPID this movie was, like really? They spent more time doing the front cover graphics than anything else! Bad acting, bad director, bad everything. This looks like a movie kids from a local high school made, wait there's would probably be better. I don't recommended anyone to watch this movie, I don't think this should have even BEEN a movie, it's just terrible. The blood, graphics, aliens, zombies, how they turn, killer fish? Giant grasshopper? STUPID. It makes me mad how stupid of a movie this is.
I'm an Australian and recently watched and liked "The Loved Ones" and "Needle".Couldn't watch this one till the end, though - a fact which might not justify a review. But I had enough after half an hour, I even fast forwarded to the "action" SPOILER (Zombies attacking the nerd's house) but overall I was bored out of my mind. 1 star for the efforts. The low-budget charm is nice, and fresh new faces. Still I just couldn't get "hooked".
As horror/sci-fi movies go, this is not one of the best. It is, however, pretty fun. Clearly inspired by some of the earlier Peter Jackson work, Undead features zombies, aliens, crazy people with guns, stupid people with guns, alpha male and alpha female and lots of blood. This is the good part. The bad part is that most of the actors involved are playing like they are having fun, but can't really act. Also, for a 2003 movie I expected slightly better special effects. The script was interesting enough, even if a bit confusing at times, but the biggest failure of the film was its inability to choose between comedy, horror and sci-fi. I don't doubt that reality has a bit of both, but in Undead, the transition just didn't work.Bottom line: I did watch the movie as it was done by the same people that made DayBreakers, which had an awesome 10 minutes start. Unfortunately, it's about the same amount of time this movie has that is really interesting, the rest being average, at best.
