In the Fall of 1940, the entire population of Friar, New Hampshire walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. Without warning, they left behind everything: their homes, their clothes, and their money. The only clue where they went was a single word etched into stone near the forest’s edge: YELLOWBRICKROAD.

Just what I expected
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Most boring and time wasting movie I've seen in a long time. I really like the horror genre and can live with just a bit of getting scared and so but this..... not scary at all, just boring. The story is bad, there isn't even much of a story, the dialogs are even worse. Just don't waste your time and or money. Go watch something else like sesame street, you'll enjoy it more!
My wife absolutely hated this film while I thought it had many redeeming features, I do not mind cryptic films and do not require spoon feeding but I like to know what I am eating. The film is based on the disappearance of the inhabitants of a town in New England and the subsequent investigation. The positive points is the acting is OK, the distant music is unnerving and the gradual descent into madness of the people looking for the trail where the original inhabitants took. The major problem is the film looks like a good idea rather than a story or plot. Where the film goes wrong is we need the threads brought together, what is causing the music, why are all the instruments malfunctioning, where are the disappeared people, unfortunately we are left to derive our own ending which is better than the one in the film, pity, the film could have been excellent.
The movie is about a group of people who walk a trail and go missing, so another group of people walk the trail to find out what happened. Pretty simple plot. However despite the movie being laid out as a horror, there really is no narrative. No story line as such. It is more a metaphorical look at how we constantly strive to reach the unattainable. There is not a lot of focus on the script, instead the score provides more insight into what the characters are going through and it works well. I had a hard time rating this movie, I really loved what they were trying to do but I felt it was missing a little something. Perhaps because the ending felt a little unrewarding. Definitely worth the watch if you like something a little different, but not for everybody.
Pretentious amateur attempt at an ambiguous horror movie. I hate crap like this. It's not intelligent. It's not thought-provoking. It's not original. The filmmakers wanted so badly for it to be a memorable and enigmatic film that they forgot to make it a good one. It's a boring chore to sit through that has ZERO scares and no atmosphere. There are a couple of moments you have to laugh at the ineptitude of it but that's the closest thing to a positive reaction it got from me.I only saw this because of Cassidy Freeman, who I was familiar with from Smallville. Being the only person with any "name" in the cast, she is advertised as though she were the star. She most definitely is not. She's in a minor supporting role and is killed off fairly early. But she provides this boring mess of a film's only highlight: the most ridiculous death scene in movie history. I can't believe they were serious with that. Avoid this garbage at all costs.
