Almost every criticism that can be thrown at this mini series has already been made, so I will start with mine: * the stereotyped young, beautiful, brilliant, kick-ass woman who will not fall into line and insists on playing by her rules which run counter to all others. She is right and everyone else is wrong. She wears a tightly fitting shirt throughout the film and never changes it, so presumably everything happens in one day.* The squabbling families - father and son, father and daughter, husband and wife. All disaster movies have them so they can either be killed off or reconciled.* The rupture following the train down the tracks. That's the part where I suspended all belief and just sat back for the ride.* We are told that the fault is so deep underground that no instruments have been invented which could measure it. Later they have to set their nuclear war heads at 350 feet or thereabouts to fuse the fault. Gimme a break! I thought coal mines went lower than that. 3,500 feet would have sounded more likely. 3.5 miles even better. The good points: * I liked the split screen and the special effects.* It was fun for a few hours and made a change from talk shows, cooking shows and home the shopping channels. On a cold wet winter's night when you have nothing better to do, stoke up the fire, grab a few friends and sit back for the ride.

I loved this show. I watched its premiere in 2004 and recently just caught it again on the Scifi channel. Watching the second time, the one thing that kept running through my head was, "Is this directed by the same person who directs 24?" The similarities are incredible. From the way it's shot, to the camera movement, to the triple boxes. They both even have numbers as names! Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there a real connection between 10.5 and 24? Thanks!I'm not even a big fan of 24, but I really did notice similarities. I think my favorite 24 episode actually aired on South Park! hehehe

This movie was terrific on many levels! To see so many actors take the opportunity to fall on their swords in career moves worthy of Armed and Famous.President Beau does a remarkable impression of a piece of wood. I especially liked him bounding off the basketball court when he found out the space needle in Seattle fell down. It made me wonder if President George ever bounded anywhere. One of the unsung heroes of the movie, not even listed in the credits were the blue folders. Entertain yourself, try counting the number of times they appear in the movie They appeared in nearly every scene, apparently contained vital information, reports, plans and only hold a couple sheets of paper. All the President needed to do was ask for information, and low and behold, the folder appeared. Who had time to generate these reports? Kim Delany was more fun when she was drinking heavily on NYPD Blue. The train being chased by the crevasse was particularly cartoon-like.And then there's the guy from Dukes of Hazard.President Beau says it best "This is a nightmare." Watch the movie if you're a masochist, or a collector of really really bad movies.... if so, then also check out Sandra Bullock's "Hangman." You'll be sorry.

I have seen this movie a few times, and I've spotted several events in the movie that are WRONG! Like when the Space Needle fell over from that 7.9 earthquake. Well, I've done some research and it turns out that it would take an earthquake with a magnitude 9.0 or greater to inflict serious damage to the building. Also, the 8.2 quake outside of Redding, CA isn't big enough to cause the ground to sink (look at pictures of the 9.6 or so earthquake in Anchorage.)And I know it's geographically impossible to separate Los Angeles from the California mainland unless San Andreas decides to create a channel from San Francisco to the Colorado River delta. Is there anymore that I've left out?
