what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

When I heard of a Tenacios D movie coming out, I was excited as hell. But as I finally watched it, my excitement began to sink. The movie has some good jokes or just funny parts (some of them can be read in the quotes section), but I can not tell you if you are going to like them because they have a very special humor. And the story is quite nice too, except for the middle of the movie. This was the part that disappointed me. Because it really seemed like they were stretching the movie there. And that just bored me extremely. Now should you watch this movie? If you like a)Tenacious D b)Tenacious D like Humor or c)rock music definitely yes. Even if you don't like the humor or the story or whatever, the music is really great (and I am saying that, as somebody who usually just listens to Thrash Metal). If nothing of that fits you, I would still recommend giving it a try, but only if you like self-irony, otherwise go and watch something else.

I don't know if i liked this movie because im only 15 but this is one of my FAVORITE MOVIES. First of all, Jack Black is one of my favorite actors because although he can be annoying at times, he is a hilarious and exceptional actor. I thought the plot of the movie was great because they were originally going to make the movie a true story about how Jack Black and Kyle Gass first met and how Tenacious D began. But instead they made the movie interesting and made a more goofy story line which i'm glad they did. I thought this was a good laugh and was pretty well directed considering the seriousness of the movie. This is one of my favorite stoner movies(aside from Harold and Kumar). Critics know nothing and just want everything to be professional. I don't know about everybody else but i just watch movies for fun. THIS MOVIE IS WORTHY OF A 10!

This is one of those movies that aren't perfect comedies, but it isn't a bad comedy either. It provides some good laughs, but it also provides some very dumb laughs. The movie is good in the sense that it did make you laugh, but the storytelling was just bad. I didn't love this movie, but I didn't hate it either. I liked it, it was cute. It was amusing. Plus, usually anything with Jack Black in it is good. I don't usually listen to Tenacious D's music, though I have heard a majority of their songs and thought they were pretty good. Above all, this is a good movie if you're looking for some good laughs, but not looking for something that's going to stick with you for years due to the acting, storytelling, etc. This is just a fun-ish and dumb type of movie. It's like most of the National Lampoon movies. Like Van Wilder. It was one of those types of movies, but this one I enjoyed for the music, and the laughs. If you don't know by now this is a movie about the fictional formation of the band Tenacious D. Jack Black and Kyle Gass are the legends behind this band. The movie starts off with a very funny song called Kickapoo, in which we learn Jack Black as a child was the black sheep of his religious family, and he gets a message from Dio. Dio tells him in lyrical form that if he wants to be a rock star, he must go to Hollywood. It takes years for him to get to Hollywood, and that's where the whole movie basically starts. Jack Black meets Kyle Gass, whom he assumes is a legend just by his little rock performance on the streets. Kyle Gass says he'll teach Jack Black his ways, but then we find out he's actually a broke dude living in a crappy apartment. They set out to become the best rock band ever by finding the Pick of Destiny. The movie features a lot of good laughs, mainly caused by crude stuff. The movie also features a lot of dumb laughs. Some of these are just dumb laughs in which you think, Wow, why am I watching this? and some are just, Wow, that was so dumb, that it's funny. The movie features a lot of foul language and coarse humor, but most of the time, it isn't too excessive. A lot of the language and humor is found in the Tenacious D songs made for this movie. Example, Master Exploder. Good song, and the circumstances in which the song was played was very dumb, but it was generally amusing. Or Beelzeboss, the rock-off with the devil, that was dumb but it was also genuinely funny. The movie works because of the funny rock lyrics, and the rock songs, themselves.Overall, if you aren't looking for something that's in depth with it's story and characters, and you are just in search for some good laughs, then you should watch Tenacious D. Not my favorite movie, but I didn't hate it. It was funny, but dumb as well.6/10
