Jane, a struggling but perpetually stoned actress, has a busy day ahead. She has several important tasks on her list, including buying more marijuana. Even though she already has a good start on the day's planned drug use, she eats her roommate's pot-laced cupcakes and embarks on a series of misadventures all over Los Angeles.

best movie i've ever seen.
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
This film will get you down, the protagonist is pictured as a hunched, hapless, paranoid loser. In the beginning it is actually a bit funny, but then stuff goes downhill quite rapidly. All actions of the protagonist cause misery to people around her. She ends up sentenced by the court, cleaning the side of the highway, while being yelled at by the guard ("hey, you, stoner, get back to work") In general, this film made me and my wife feel bad. The message it sends out is "If you're a stoner, you're a loser and you're gonna go to jail"Unless you enjoy such stuff, stay away from that film. When we were watching it, we had a few occasional laughs, but in the end we absolutely did not found this film worth watching. Avoid, especially when you're stoned. Just go an watch How High again.
Very disappointing. I like movies with smiley faces in them, like Forrest Gump and Smiley but this movie did not actually have much smiley face substance. I also would have given this an extra point if someone had drowned in the film but no one drowned. This is why pot is a killer of the universe. So much energy is wasted without purpose when pot is involved, it is horridly inefficient. Only drugs that make the person pass out and do nothing, like heroin, are acceptable after the sea change. The sea change being the acceptance that energy is finite and smoking weed and drinking and sexing indiscriminately are wastes of energy and killers of the universe. 0/20
This is a wonderful laugh-out-loud stoner movie. If you like weed and you like slapstick, this is the movie for you. Yes, it's over the top. Yes, it's wacky. But it is a future classic. Definitely one of the best movies ever made. You'll either love it or hate it. Me, I laugh my ass off every time I watch it. But I am a stoner and I love slapstick and goofball comedy. I love Anna Faris, too; she is absolutely hilarious in this movie. Also, Gregg Araki is a brilliant director. His angular, vibrant, colorful and campy style is unique, unrivaled and ahead of it's time. He's a rather underrated director. And unlike some of his other movies, Smiley Face is very accessible, considering half of America gets high. Enjoy!!!
Now this, fellow stoner users, is a great stoner movie. Anna Faris, better known as the innocent Cindy Campbell from the Scary Movies franchise, plays Jane, who gets real stoned and has lots of important stuff to do.The plot sounded nice from the beginning, but I wasn't expecting it to be so artistic. It's more of an adventure film rather than a comedy. It's something like... stoner adventure. Anyway, lots of funny moments here, great to watch when you yourself are stoned. Has an unexpected ending and oh, those situations... Haven't we all been there? Plus, good soundtrack. Watch it with your friends.
