All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

the other re·view·er (s) are lost in an air pocket. this is the dumbest piece of people, acting, and captured on film strips. money was spent on this swamp. starving children could have been fed on the dollars wasted on this tripe. it is horrible. got it with netflix membership, want to sue them and anyone else involved. this is horrible

You'll look at the poster and feel like you can knit the whole film in your mind, the sort of humor, the kind of scenes, the mainstream atmosphere... well, this is a bit better than what you'd imagine. The Farellys have produced some memorable comedies and won't produce total garbage either. The story and moral are good enough to hold up the whole way without feeling as empty as this type of comedy usually feels, it's not as predictable as you'd imagine and overall it's just a fun ride. The criticism for this is it could've been funnier. A bit like Shallow Hal, you'd like the Farellys to really give you that typical crude humor in abundant quantity but the brothers focused just as much on story here and forgot a tad bit about the gags. The other thing is it's long, and perhaps some of the time spent in one area could've been spent elsewhere to give this a bit more balance: either more gags, or more time developing the relationship between the two inseparable protagonists...6.5/10.

So yes this movie on the cover you think WTF is that but you watch it any way because you think how could Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon make a totally bad movie. Thankfully you watch it and now every time its on TV I get stuck watching it. Its not dumb and dumber but its a nice runner up. they have their ignorant lines because they don't see what the outside world sees. If your on the fence about watching this just sit down and watch it you wont regret it. it wont win an Oscar and wont be listed as one of the great comedies of all time but you will laugh and enjoy just the ridiculousness of it all.Sit back relax don't expect an Oscar and enjoy the show. think about people making a movie just for the fun of making a silly movie.

Funny and touching account of Siamese twins (Kinnear and Damon) who enjoy a relatively normal life inside their unique situation, Kinnear a budding actor, encouraged and supported by his brother Damon, nervous about meeting his online love (Shih), uncertain how to reveal the 'closeness' between himself and his brother. Eventually Kinnear lands a role in a sitcom (creative framing and editing taking care of Damon) and things seem to be on the up, then the prospect of surgical separation offers a chance to become independent.Surprising cast includes Cher as a diva who helps Kinnear land his first role as a means to infuriate the studio for disrespecting her, while Seymour Cassel plays Kinnear's wheelchair-bound manager, Griffin Dunne pops up in a cameo as a TV director and roll out the red carpet for Meryl Streep who plays herself with a few pearls of wisdom on how to succeed despite yourself.Damon does a cracker parody of Mike Tyson in one hilarious scene, showcasing some comedic skills he doesn't often display, while there's plenty of laughs in general as you'd expect from the premise. Beneath the comedy, there also a sensitive story, and not as cheesy as these films sometimes convey. I agree with another reviewer who commented that the film is not your typical comic-pathos, but has been mis-promoted as a run-of-the-mill blithering slapstick farce - both Kinnear and Damon's characters are genuinely drawn and their dialogue is witty, erudite and demonstrative of two quietly assertive personalities who've learned to be self-deprecating about their disability, but not subdued by prejudice. Fortunately, you can take or leave the message, the comedy stands alone.
