Best movie of this year hands down!
Simply Perfect
Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
We found this one in the bargain bin, and that's where it should have stayed. My wife and I started watching this last night, but the utterly ridiculous storyline and script made it impossible to watch to the end. As such I can only review the first 26 minutes of what is by far the worst film I've ever seen. I've no idea what Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker were doing in this movie, but presumably they were in desperate need of money. I can imagine that we'll be seeing them both doing ads for haemorrhoid cream, or perhaps even appearing on the shopping channel soon.....If you like to think that 95% of all policemen are corrupt, and that all white police officers are crass and violent racists, this may be ideal entertainment for you. Otherwise the only worthwhile reason for watching it, is to laugh at the sight of 50 Cent wearing a policeman's hat (actually I'm sure this can be seen in the trailer, so I'd advise you to save your money!)
'Freelancers' is a so-so fare, that has some merit, but it isn't fully loaded either. 'Freelancers' Synopsis: The son of a slain NYPD officer joins the force, where he falls in with his father's former partner and a team of rogue cops.'Freelancers' rests on a clichéd plot. The ever-lasting tale of of an honest cop & his battle with corrupt cops/gangsters/thief's has been depicted on the big screen an umpteen number of times. So in terms of novelty, 'Freelancers' has none of it. However, a few dramatic moments are skillfully executed, which certainly deserve a mention.L. Philippe Casseus's Screenplay is average. Jessy Terrero's Direction is decent. Action-Sequences are nicely executed. Performance-Wise: 50 Cent makes a sincere attempt to justify his part. De Niro is in his element. Forest Whitaker doesn't get much scope. On the whole, 'Freelancers' is an okay watch.
a movie that borders on the ridiculous, the character development's believability relies on a stupid audience to begin with, it is not rooted in any believable milieu and some of the scenes are ridiculous. So disappointing to see De Niro and Whitaker make appearances in such a poor quality movie, did they lose a bet or something?I think 50cent likes the idea of himself as a man of depth that his characters try to represent but he loses credibility with every movie that he appears in.Count the gunshots and picture the holes it would make in a script and you have a pretty good representation of how tight this movie script was.Leave it on the shelf if you see it in a DVD store.
I watched this a month ago and i had low expectations about this movie, though it starred big actors like DeNiro and Withaker. But This movie was great, everything from acting to environment. I highly recommend people to watch this movie even if there is a lot of critics about it. See it with low expectations or try to think in a more innovating perspective. Rappers gone actors is a major deal, 50 cent came from nothing and became something. I remember watching 50 cent for the first time a decade ago, the man has changed so much and he is more mature than Barrack Obama. "Get rich or die trying", well Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is rich...
