A Disappointing Continuation
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
This film is completely underrated not only in the Halloween franchise but also in the horror genre. Michael Myers have never been more terrifying than in this film, some of the kills in this film are horrific! 8/10
In Halloween 6, specifically in the movie's theatrical cut, visual beauty is connected to the lack of purpose. Lack of purpose is one way of looking at it, the lack of movement is a more literal way of looking at it.If the opposite of purpose has been connected to the purpose of observation, it stands to reason that purpose has been connected to the opposite of observation. The opposite of observation is the opposite of intrigue, and it's the opposite of interest. Interest, is a force that deserves to hold a monopoly over reality. The opposite of interest is a force that can't have a monopoly. A monopoly is a quantity that beats another quantity. The opposite of interest is a force that can't be a quantity that beats another quantity. The purpose, of Halloween 6, is a quantity that has to be equal to any other quantity. No quantity can have the right to overrule any other quantity. A quantity is an image - so no image in Halloween 6 can have the right to be better than any other image.Any image, or any shape, or any character or any object that gets seen in Halloween 6 will eventually get the same treatment that any other image or character gets. It doesn't matter what the image looks like, it doesn't matter who the character is and it doesn't matter what the object is: throughout the 80 minute run time, of Halloween 6, all the characters and all the objects that get seen in the film get shown in a way which is identical. The Strode house gets shown the same way that Smith's Grove gets shown. Kara Strode gets shown the same way that Tommy Doyle gets shown. Michael Myers gets shown the same way that Kara Strode and Tommy Doyle get shown. The Blankenship house gets shown the same way that the Strode house and that Smith's Grove get shown, etc etc.Halloween 6 is a perfect type of intellect, and it's quite possibly in the top 20 movies ever made
This is a major let down like on Facebook when I was talking about what's the worst HalloweeN movie and some guy say this movie because of the story and I agree, THE STORY IS BAD!! This movie could give you seizures just like RZH2 so if you're epileptic then don't watch this movie. This movie is gory I have to admit but in my opinion it's unnecessary because Michael is not that type of killer like Jason Voorhees is. And what's with the cult thing? It almost ruined Michael Myers like as a fan of this series, this sequel needs to get better writers. I haven't watch the producer's cut so I hope that version is better. The reshots and rewrites hurt the film. Don't watch this please!
For years, I could never figure out why this sequel was so strange and flawed in a lot of ways. But I recently listened to audio commentary by Daniel Ferrands and I found out how ambitious and dedicated he was to making this a worthy sequel... Until the suits came in and raped what was once his vision (Jamie living until the end and dying in a fight with Michael, more Loomis for the fans, a bit lighter on gore, a classic score from Alan Howarth, etc). It was only implied that Steven was Michael's child, rather than confirmed... Which was a good choice for such a bizarre subplot. What takea me out of this flick is J.C. Brandy, she just wasn't Jamie to me. And Paul Rudd having more screen time than Donald Pleasance was disappointing. H6 is one of the more mean spirited entries and as far as spirit, it looks and feels like Halloween. The performances are strong, Kara Strode being the most grounded next to Loomis, and Michael is the most bad ass we've seen up to this point. This movie was genuinely scary either version, but I would've preferred what was planned on paper.
