what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This was an extremely powerful film in so many ways and I'm somewhat surprised it wasn't hailed more than it was and that it didn't get the extent of theatrical releases that it actually deserved. Fundamentally about the fact that power can certainly corrupt and absolutely power even more so, Land of the Blind is often a very bleak vision of how humans will feel perfectly justified in going to extreme lengths to ensure that their end-goals are realised and that the means to achieve those ends become immaterial. Ralph Fiennes is a brave an excellent actor who I've seen astound me on stage on many occasions (let alone his excellent film-work) and he doesn't disappoint at all in this hugely powerful role. Tom Hollander once again probably steals the show with his psychotic portrayal - a truly frightening character and a marvellously brave performance yet again from this amazing actor who seems able to be brilliant in every single role he ever does and all the roles are so hugely different.

I wont devote too much time to reviewing this film for the following reason:There's nothing wrong with a political message if you respect the medium that's being used to express it.This film has bad cinematography, bad directing, bad lighting, very average music, a bad pace , bad dialogue, and none devoted actors... What are Fiennes and Sutherland doing in this film?Robert Edwards may be a more intellectual type than Uwe Boll but his directing and writing skills are of no higher standard. Please Edwards, do better next time or make use of other mediums for your idea's. I don't however believe you'd be very successful with such a horrible movie on your resume.

I spent the entire movie raising and lowering the volume while I watched this movie. I may have actually enjoyed it...if I could have taken my finger off the volume button for more than 3 minutes.Other than that, the plot was a bit trite, but the imagery was very good. The character development tried very hard to be engaging, but in the end you really didn't feel terribly good or bad for the lead character. Technically, the visual effects were very adept at setting the mood. Unfortunately, again, the sound...ruined the movie for me.A little sound consistency would have been welcome.

Nice movie but speaks to a small number of viewers.. My vote is 8 because of that. It is a political drama and a piece of almost every country's history. Witness the tragedy of the names that make history and time. Witness the games of the mind. Pure drama. I got no more comments for this movie. I don't see why my comment should make 10 lines.
