It is a performances centric movie
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Very sweet. I enjoyed this movie...even broke out the Kleenex. Perfect movie for a lazy late afternoon. Hmmm... Seems I need 10 lines of text. That's silly, but here goes. Scarlett J is adorable in the movie as a brunette. She can wear anything. She's a very believable actress. I don't know the actor that plays her love interest, but well done. What a cutie and a good actor, as well. Laura Linney, as the neurotic, ever controlling, heartless, emotionally absent mommy, plays the roll of hard-hearted protagonist to the hilt. She's cold, she's wicked, she's self- absorbed, she's judgmental, lacking empathy and any maternal skills that might help make her slightly likable. And who is the a or who plays the daddy? I like him. He plays a jack-off quite well. He fit the role excellently! I realize this review isn't much help...lol... but have a great day anyway. :)
THE NANNY DIAIRIES is a saccharine and annoying comedy that tries to incorporate touches of whimsical fantasy that don't really work. The film stars Scarlett Johansson as Annie Braddock (Why are female movie characters always named Annie, not Ann? I've never known an Ann in my life who likes to be called Annie), a recent college graduate who stumbles into a job as a Nanny for the child of an unhappy, upwardly mobile couple residing on Manhattan's lower east side. The predictable story finds Annie initially hating the position but soon unable to leave because she doesn't want to leave the child alone with his dysfunctional parents. The film suffers from pedestrian direction and a screenplay that tries WAY too hard to be cute and smart, most notably Annie's obnoxious Carrie Bradshaw-like narration that really grates on the nerves. Johansson's lifeless performance in the starring role doesn't help either...the camera loves Johansson but this is performance completely devoid of anything resembling comic timing. Johansson looks embarrassed just being involved in this debacle. The supporting cast is first rate though...Laura Linney's crisp performance as the boy's mother is perfection as is Tony Winner Donna Murphy's turn as Annie's mother and Grammy winner Alicia Keys as Annie's best friend. It cannot be denied that Nicholas Art is adorable as Annie's young charge and hunky Chris Evans is wasted as a romantic interest. It's SEX AND THE CITY meets MARY POPPINS and it just doesn't work.
This film was beautiful and stars was successful.Film's name is The Nany Diaries but in film, don't much mention nanny's love.Usually mentions rich families' communication with their children in film.It was a classical nanny film. But while I was watching film,I was boring. Film was comic and emotional.Perhaps, It's describing a lot of family's life. When parents neglected their children , they was doing business. It counsels a lot of family. Also It was mentioning , person's instability for selection job. Outwise Scarlett Jhonsson was great.I enjoy it.Generally, film was beautiful.I advice to watch the film. Especially parents should watch the film.
Like chamomile tea, the Nanny Diaries is fragrant, has a delicate almost bland taste, is not bad at all, but after a while is totally forgotten. It is not going to harm you, but is not going to be a memorable experience either. For a movie that was supposed to be a comedy, this one is missing a few laughters. There are a few funny moments, but for the most part it is a light drama. This is a typical chick-flick for a cold rainy day. It is not a kid's movie, by the way...
