A decade has passed in the small town where the original Sandlot gang banded together during the summer of ’62 to play baseball and battle the Beast. Now comes the sequel, a campy romp back to the dugout where nine new kids descend on the diamond only to discover that a descendant of the Beast lives in Mr. Mertle’s backyard--a monster of mythical proportions known as "The Great Fear."

Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
This film carried the burden of following up an American classic in the original, therefore being set up to be considered a disappointment by those (read: everyone/non-terrorists) who enjoyed the first. What saved The Sandlot 2 from being a complete disaster was a magnificent performance by the delightful Samantha Burton. Throughout the 97 minutes, Hayley Goodfairer will have you laughing, crying, before leaving you with a newfound belief in love with a kiss so passionate it rivals (dare I say surpasses?) the iconic kiss shared by the Notebook's Allie and Noah amidst the pouring rain. It was one of those once-in-a-generation performances where an actress puts the entire cast and crew on her shoulders and says "I will NOT let this movie suck!" Her ability to take a bunch of no-name actors and save them from the mediocrity that is their own talent (or lack thereof) when it is all said and done may go down as the single greatest cinematographic accomplishment since the invention of the moving picture. If she can stay away from the failings that often do in child stars, drugs, alcohol, hipsters with man-buns, I can say with as much certainty as I can say that I am going to die one day, that Samantha Burton will have won 15+ Oscars by the time it is all said and done.
Why. Why was this movie even made? 12 years after the original swept the nations baseball fans. 12 years after audiences were wowed. And 12 years after that amazing movie was made.......This crap came out. The creators of this movie should be ashamed. Destroying what-was a great movie. Now a trilogy? It was a one film kind of thing. No sequels necessary. But of course money grubbers want to cash in on the great original. Damn Hollywood sell-outs.I would rather watch Epic Movie and Freddy Got Fingered then this crap. At least they have funny or humorous moments. This only has lame parts that were taken from the original. If you like the original or have any self respect. You'll stay away from this crap.
The plot was amazing. The actors were top notch. you would have thought Tarqell was Denzel Washington.Seriously, if your kids don't watch this movie, they will never achieve anything in life.Tarqell was my favorite part of the movie. Being of African American Descent, he was very inspirational to me.I need to know when the next movie comes out.Cause I willmost defitniely be watching out for it.this is awesome for kids who aspire to play baseball or get over fears/sincerely phongus.
This movie, when i saw it (as i haven't seen the original) was pretty good. The story was kinda random, like having a "Bigfoot" dog but the Director did a good job of fitting everything in with the story. You could clearly tell that there was going to be a relationship between a guy and a girl, so when it happened it was no surprise. The acting was OK. You could tell that they are not the biggest actors, or even very good ones - looking at their IMDb's, they have only been in like 1,2,3 movies. The way they said some lines were not very good. The little dude was funny and he is a good actor, and should really be in movie movies. Overall this is a good family movie that is funny and entertaining, and not hard to follow.
