Placed in a foster home that doesn't allow pets, 16-year-old Andi and her younger brother, Bruce, turn an abandoned hotel into a home for their dog. Soon other strays arrive, and the hotel becomes a haven for every orphaned canine in town. But the kids have to do some quick thinking to keep the cops off their tails.

To me, this movie is perfection.
Sorry, this movie sucks
Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
everything you have heard about this movie is true.
I have trouble being too hard on this film. What the concept promises is a hotel with a bunch of cute pups running around it, and it really delivers on that promise. You don't just get a hotel full of dogs, you also get a whole bunch of fancy contraptions that feed and entertain the dogs and take care of all of their needs. What surrounds this central idea is not too challenging ... orphans, evil step parents, a non-threatening teenage love interest for the girl orphan, friends who just come out of nowhere and volunteer to help, evil dog catchers and Don Cheadle. I won't for one second suggest that this is a conventionally good movie, but I kind of enjoyed it in a "don't think very hard about any of it" kind of way.
Harmless but forgettable fluff designed to make every child feel as though they are worth something. Roberts plays a young girl thrown from foster home to foster home with her brother. Needless to say, they soon meet a load of dogs that also can't find a family. Soon they're running a Hotel for Dogs to escape the misery of their lives. All this would be easier to swallow if Roberts and Austin were relatable. They commit crimes to make money. Who cares if their parents are dead, there are plenty of law abiding orphans out there. Cheadle is a surprise turn out in this paint by numbers fluff. It can be entertaining, but the dog handlers deserve the biggest congratulations.
Hotel for Dogs started out like a charming family film that turns into a downhill movie so fast that at the end of the movie, I didn't much care for the movie itself. Hotel for Dogs stars Emma Roberts and Jake T. Austin as foster kids going through Social Services. With a empty heart of love toward their surrounding, since they leave in a harsh environment. So, they run away and they find a rundown, abandon hotel. After finding the hotel, they soon capture puppies and dogs. But, that's where the story is certainly about. These kids picking dogs that are strays. Now, after seeing this movie, I started wondered what would happened if they got caught for stealing dogs, especially stray dogs. Hotel for Dogs has a heart for kids and animal-lovers, but to me, I was thinking about that statement in my head. In other words, this movie said, "It's OK to pick up stray dogs on the streets, alleyways and vacant lots." That is a wrong message, especially in a kids movie. All in all, Hotel for Dogs is a film that tried hard to be good, but leaves a skid mark behind. ★★ 2 stars.
'Hotel For Dogs' is strictly for kids. As an adult, I did not find it much to enjoy. The only reason why I thought it might be worth a watch was because the cast included Don Cheadle and Lisa Kudrow. Sadly, both were horribly wasted. But, Kudrow does look hilarious in that bad rockstar gettup.Even, as a children's film, 'Hotel For Dogs' isn't anywhere close to being memorable. Kids will easily forget this one once they have moved to another movie. The direction is messy. The acting is mostly over-the-top. The story does not have much in terms of structure. Even the poor dogs lack character development. I do hope there won't be a sequel.
