How sad is this?
A Masterpiece!
The acting in this movie is really good.
Never been kissed is one of the most under-rated Romantic comedy movies ever! * Spoilers Below* Drew Barrymore plays a copy-editor who wants to make it as a Journalist, so she has been selected to do an undercover expose on a High school. She plays Josie Geller, A shy twenty-something girl who hasn't found the love of her life and has never been kissed. She was severely bullied in High school by her classmates due to which she found that period of her life horrible. Now she is forced to go the same place again and get a do over! Its a must watch for a hopeless romantic!I have now started finding better movies through www.flickstree.com. It not only suggests great movies to watch, it also tell where you can watch the movie online. Highly recommended!
Never been kissed (1999) is a very cute, well made romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and David Arquette. Drew Barrymore really does shine in this film, she fills the role of Josie Geller perfectly, no other actress could've done a better job in the starring role here. David Arquette is good here, he plays a fun side character here, and he does all that he's supposed to, which is all you can really ask for. I also thought that Jessica Alba filled her popular b***h character well, and it was kinda cool to see the evolution of her character towards the end. Molly Shannon does really well, she was one of my favorite parts of the entire film! She was hilarious in all her scenes, especially the sex education scene, putting the condoms on the bananas lol, typical Molly Shannon. I was a little surprised to see Octavia Spencer here too, playing one of Drew's friends at the Chicago Sun Times. This movie has really great chemistry between all the characters involved too, in a movie like this especially, chemistry between characters is pretty important. And Drew's love interest in the movie, Michael Vartan, was a good pleasant presence to have here, and he and Drew really did connect in the movie. I was just very pleased with this film overall, Never Been Kissed gets a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
Never Been Kissed The hardest part of going back to high school undercover is getting your acne to flare up again.Luckily, the undercover journalist in this romantic-comedy has her virginity to draw upon.Sent back to high school by her editor (Garry Marshall) to get the scoop on today's youth, Josie (Drew Barrymore) jumps at the chance to show her skills. But the thought of returning jogs her own high school memories of being a loser.Unable to escape that categorization again, she's lumped with bully target Aldys (Leelee Sobieski).Meanwhile, Josie has her first romantic relationship with a teacher (Michael Vartan), who believes her to be a student.Despite the earmarks of a typical rom-com, Never Been Kissed exceeds its own classification with smart writing and astute observations on the teenage animal.Incidentally, "I thought he/she was an undercover journalist" is a good excuse for any teacher accused of sexual interference.Green Light vidiotreviews.blogspot.com
Never Been Kissed is a cute little movie with a silly plot- A newspaper editor named Josie Gellar, played by Drew Barrymore, dreaming of becoming a reporter is given a story to go undercover and to write about the high school scene.Having been a nerd and taunted a lot in high school, she sees this as a second chance to be "cool". With a makeover by her brother, she enters the high school scene. Her brother starts to get excited and decides to go undercover as well. Josie manages to become friends with both the popular and geeky kids and her second chance in high school becomes the life she always dreamed of.She becomes well liked in the school and starts to fall for her teacher. As school life and fun as a teen starts to get to her head, she begins to get closer to her deadline and must make a decision between blowing her cover and possibly dating the teacher or simply just writing her story and being done with high school forever. And to top it all off, she hasn't been kissed and would love for her teacher to be her first kiss. This leads to complications. If you're into girly movies and high school movies and feel good movies, you will LOVE Never Been Kissed. I was a big nerd in high school who wasn't really popular and thus, I hated high school like Josie did. While I wouldn't want a second chance, it was fun seeing Josie relive her high school days and having fun. It's one of those movies you really don't have to take too serious mainly cause the plot is kind of unrealistic. Other than that, you'll enjoy the movie. It's got a "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" feel to it!
