Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Absolutely the worst movie.
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
I really like Rashida Jones, like 9 out of 10. But boy how this movie sucks. This machine simply does not work, as if it was some Philippine's car or something. Its simply a very bad puzzle of pieces not fitting together at all. Jokes trying to be funny - are not funny. Moments trying to be cute and sweet - aren't. People trying to match - are not. Instead they are painful to watch, as they really, really trying.Things that happen - are painfully unreal. Your boss acts like you neighbors pool boy. Your best friend acts like your mom. Your client, who you badmouthed all over with your phone calling her - acts like your daughter, who wants you to be her confidant about her boyfriend problems. At the end this trying to-be-cute was so painful, that I took a hammer and just hit my thumb really, really hard. To just get a revelation. If you don't have a hammer - don't watch this movie. If you do - get ready to experience some pain.
I believe I got this movie off STARZ and watched the other night. This is one of those little movies that has a lot of dialogue and atmosphere similar to a late night bar. Rashida Jones (also co-wrote) and Andy Samberg are the titular characters in what I would call a romantic comedy about post-divorce. The two characters attempt to maintain a friendship in the aftermath of their break-up but complications arise, such as Rashida moving on to other guys, Andy's GOY-geous baby mama shows up, etc.. Our two leads in this are spot on, and the writing is first-rate as well. And apparently, I was reading some place that Capt. Kirk himself has a little un-credited cameo..?? Well, anyhoo, what a refreshing piece of late night entertainment...Big thumbs up!...... Elijah Wood and Emma Roberts co-star.
I can't understand for the life of me why this movie has such a low rating! I went into this movie not expecting too much.. I don't mind Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones so I thought I'd give it a try. First off, don't watch this movie if you're looking for something full of laughs. It's not supposed to be something that has you in stitches. I thought it was a beautiful, well acted story of love and friendship. At times it was frustrating, heartbreaking, amusing and heartwarming. It made me smile and it made me sad. Both Samberg and Jones were pretty phenomenal in their acting in this movie. This movie stuck me as a more intelligent, realistic romance for those of us who are over the Nicholas Sparks sap. I'd recommend giving this movie a chance, I'm glad I did.
This movie had me reaching for tissues for it has put me through a roller coaster of emotions. Don't know whether it's because I am generally an emotional person, but a relationship between the main two characters felt so real and so... lovely and sweet that I felt a connection right away. Basically, everything they were feeling, I was feeling it too. And it was happiness and sadness and anger and then just pain. But it was wonderful, it truly was. It was also very funny, which is expected from a Rashida Jones, and to be able to laugh through the sad parts even, made me very content. I also very much enjoyed the soundtrack! Lily Allen, yes, thank you very much! Everything was great in my opinion, I enjoyed every aspect of this film even though it made me cry like a baby. I warmly recommend it, it will be worth your time and it will definitely find a way to your heart.
