Ray Tango and Gabriel Cash are narcotics detectives who, while both being extremely successful, can't stand each other. Crime Lord Yves Perret, furious at the loss of income that Tango and Cash have caused him, frames the two for murder. Caught with the murder weapon on the scene of the crime, the two have no alibi. Thrown into prison with most of the criminals they helped convict, it appears that they are going to have to trust each other if they are to clear their names and catch the evil Perret.

Wonderfully offbeat film!
After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
It is both painfully honest and laugh-out-loud funny at the same time.
I got a real kick out of this movie, mostly because it was the classic story line of a man and woman who think they are opponents, and banter endlessly as they fall in love and save the day....except instead of a male and female, it's Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone. I laughed my head off!Probably my favorite scene though is when they end up in a strip club featuring a female dancer...clothed, wildly playing a drum...?? Laughed so hard. The truth is, I've never been in such a club, but I wondered if the writer had ever been in a strip club either! It just seemed like the writer was like..."okay, they go into a club and the woman...I dunno, she's playing a drum? I dunno, who cares. Just keep her clothes on, the only buns we want to see in this movie are those of the leading men, am I right?!" But what do I know?It was a a strangely romantic movie and so over the top 80's-tastic. It's a real gem!
If you're in the mood for a fun, action packed comedy with a ridiculous plot and silly characters, then 'Tango & Cash' is definitely one to consider. Stallone and Russell make an entertaining cop duo with their comical behaviour and funny one-liners.The ending is admittedly rubbish, but to be honest I wasn't particularly bothered. This isn't a movie to be taken seriously anyway - it only aims to be a quick comedy fix and I think it fulfills that aim relatively well.'Tango & Cash' is far from being a great action/comedy movie but it does provide the odd funny moment here and there.
When I was a kid, starting at maybe 9 or 10 years old, I would get the flu every year, without fail. For a week straight, I'd literally watch Tango & Cash every single day. Some years I would just wish for the flu.I cannot express to you how much I love this movie. This is the first time in probably 12 years that I've seen it, and I'm saddened it's been that long. There are so many great one-liners in this and the back and forth between Stallone and Russell is brilliant.Yeah the plot is a little ridiculous and some of the characters are a little over the top, but damn it if it doesn't put a smile on my face every time I see it. Add in an awesome score that I hum every now and then and a smoking hot Teri Hatcher and you've got yourself an unbelievably entertaining buddy cop film.Ending with the greatest high five in movie history, Tango & Cash is an action film that is borderline a parody of the action genre. Everything in this is big and ridiculous, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
This was the first real action flick I ever watched as a kid, so maybe it's nostalgia.Maybe instead, it's all of the awesome one-liners in this movie.Don't get me wrong: this is a super campy 80s action flick, and the cheese is very thick. But it's still an absolutely wonderful movie.Between Brion James' laughably bad cockney accent, to Jack Palance's eminent awesomeness, this movie has everything: completely unnecessary nudity, plenty of profanity, people jumping from explosions, and a little bit of the awesome Clint Howard! This is one of the few movies I can watch again and again and again. So if you want an evening with a little bit of 80s campiness, and you've already watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles recently, this movie's for you.
