It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Blistering performances.
Pathetic script and a shame these quality of actors were forced to try to make this semi-realistic. Only watched the entire thing because Gina Carano was given an opportunity to act and not fight. Hopefully, she'll get more chances after working with greats like Robert De Niro and Morris Chestnut.Quirky ending and unpredictable but still pathetic because it coulda/shoulda been much better.
JD Morgan gets a lot of work. His work is unwatchable, not credible, and it is just strange that he is actually employed as an actor. He only plays himself. He is not an actor, just someone who grins for a camera. Each and every part he appears in he plays the same one dimensional character. Robert diNero of course has such a great reputation, I wanted to watch even with Morgan on board. I could not finish this work of claptrap. I came away believing DiNero is finished. His last several films have all be unwatchable. He looks like an old burned out alcoholic in this film. Stiff. Emaciated. Shrivelled up. The plot? There is a casino. It gets robbed, in part to save a sick little girl yeah, right), the robbers get on a big bus that is followed by a million police. The supporting cast is useless and forgettable when they are not being obnoxious. The plot is impossible, well beyond suspension of disbelief to the point where one wonders how drunk and/or stoned the people who green-lighted this pretentious nonsense? This film is a nail on the coffin of a declining Robert DiNero. JD Morgan proves he is a ghost without talent; it would be great to say something good about a film like this, but I just can't. Don't waste your time. RIP Robert DiNero.
Depending on who directed and wrote a film like this you would have a blockbuster on your hands but this one fell short a little. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be either. This film could have used a little work as far as the story-line goes. I think a better written script would have improved this film a lot more. Although there were a couple of plot twists that made this film a little more interesting I expected more trills and more action. Also, being that this film starred Robert De Niro I expected a whole lot more. Robert De Niro is a very brilliant actor and I thought this film was far below his caliber and Morris Chestnut is a very talented actor as well but I've seen him make a few other theatrical mistakes besides this one. This film did have the potential to be so much more but even with its draw backs it still wasn't too bad.
My review is not about the actual content of the movie. My review is about the production quality, or lack thereof. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes into the movie, during the scene in Robert DeNiro's office there is a lamp that sends a streak of light across the screen. Right above the actors heads. I've never seen such an amateur looking mistake in a Hollywood production. Looks odd to me. Couldn't they angle that lamp shade differently? I mean did anyone watch this movie before releasing it to the public? Pretty amateur looking production from that aspect in my humble opinion. The lighting guy has done Bobby D a major dis-service. Bobby D is too good for this garbage.
