Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Best movie ever!
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Fun film for all the family. This does not deserve such a low rating and the graphics alone should enable more. Sat with my two young boys, 12 and 9, on a wet Sunday and watched this.... and unlike so many films held my attention, and the boys loved it. My only complaint was the cheesy title... this almst put me off.
weird. I don't know why i was expecting Seth Green to be evidently apart of this film...for some irresistible reason that led me to contemplate this film as well as ponder it for a few years now. Luckily for my Boost mobile Service I had the great opportunity to follaw through and watch it. Much likea Carl Hiasson book i had been reading HOOT, i got it, started it, took breaks from it and had suspiscions on how it would end. I'm not overly excited nor too disappointed thats for sure. Mainly the situation we have here is that a boy has his mom kidnapped, and he wanders onto a ship in which he saw that she was put on. It turns out that while being a stow away he runs into another Human. The important part about this other Human is that the same exact thing happened to him right around the same age as the littler boy. So it appears that the older kid had been on this ship for about a good decade longer and stuck apparently. So now the two boys are avoiding getting captured by the aliens as well as simultaneously trying release the mom that had been captured !
This movie interested me once I saw the trailer for it. And Joan Cusack is one of my favorite actresses, so I decided to see. This film was a big box office flop, and the ratings were just so so for those who did see it. I appreciate the effort, I could tell they tried. It's just that with this animated flick, the substance just wasn't there. There wasn't anything exciting or interesting about this movie. The dialogue was dull, the plot was lackluster, the animation was just alright at best. Now Joan Cusack did do a really good job with her voice acting the mom. I liked her in that role. Unfortunately that was just about it, I appreciate Disney trying, but this one just didn't cut it. 4/10 for Mars needs moms
I was expecting this to be a stupid movie, based solely on the name, but I saw it in 2D on satellite, and it was pretty good. It deserves somewhere between 7 and 8. The lower scores suggest something political is going on, or else the 3D must have been terrible. It certainly does have its stupid spots... a wormhole? Multiple below-ground societies on Mars? But it's animated, so you suspend disbelief early on.This film contrasts the somewhat egalitarian Western societies we all know, with the sex-segregated matriarchy of Mars, and Mars looks pretty bad in that comparison. Looked at another way, the film contrasts the electronic society we all live in today, with the real world we used to live in.Overall, it's a message of love of all kinds - family and friend.I was not creeped out by the animation at all. I liked the realism of the human faces, and the crispness of everything else. This film has been charged with being homophobic, sexist, and transphobic. These are simply lies. As a gay person, I say this is a pro-family film, in the real sense of the word. When it talks about family and love, it doesn't say "mom and dad", it doesn't say "two parents". It just says kids and "parents" (the alternative clearly being identified as machines). That's it. People are really looking for a reason to hate this film, and it's sad that's what it's come to.The message of the film is strongly anti-sexist. Our hero re-integrates Mars, leaving behind a society where there are no gender roles. It's beautiful.
