Highly Overrated But Still Good
Fresh and Exciting
Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Ignore all the bad reviews on here this is a really great movie for kids and teenagers to watch. The CGI in this movie was great. Voice actors for the alien voices were pretty spot on. The acting for this movie was great. I am not going to spoil anything but I am going to say if you want to have a good Sci-Fi movie which both kids and adults can watch i would recomand this film.
This movie literally blew the cobwebs out of my system i laughed so much along with my daughter - please do not listen to negative reviews of this movie -its daft and funny and meant to be that way and the characters really gel nicely.I know its for kids but i seen it twice in a week it is so funny.Just take a look and make your own view but i can highly recommend this esp as a family movie. There is some funky tunes in this movie too esp Dr Love by Donnie Klang.9 out of 10 for making you laugh,
I only write this review because I see all the hate for it on IMDb. Really what were people expecting from it? It was *supposed* to mindless fun!I watched this when it came out on theaters with my cousins. Two of us were older (in our late teens) and the other two were in their preteens, and we had a really good time. It was perfect bonding time because this film was about a bunch of cousins!Sure it had all the kid-movie clichés (e.g. grown ups are too dumb to realize anything is wrong), but it was fun, it was genuinely funny, and for a movie called "Aliens in the Attic" it had a surprising amount of character development. All the kids grew as characters throughout the movie and even the aliens had some character growth! Nothing deep, yes, but I was surprised that it was even there!Besides, when else will we get to see Raymond's mom kick some alien ***?
Tom is a put-upon teenager. Always in Dad's bad books, at odds with sister Bethany and her boyfriend Ricky (who is nice as pie to Mom and Dad, but horrible to Tom), he hates having to go with them on holiday to a lakeside house with his uncle and domineering cousin (plus hi young sister and cousin twins). The awfulness continues as the holiday starts and then gets worse as the holiday house turns out to be the destination of a small alien invasion advance party. And small is the key word - these guys are barely shin high, but they are incredibly aggressive. Tom knows nobody will believe him, but it turns out all the kids (except Bethany) have to join together to combat the aggressors, especially when it turns out that the aliens can fire a dart which makes people from Ricky's age upwards (which excludes the kids) controllable via a video game controller. This is essentially a kids' film, although I watched it with my wife - she is nearly 62 and I am her 59 year old toyboy - and we laughed out loud frequently. There are no big surprises, but the script is constantly amusing, and there is some wonderful slapstick and physical humour, especially from Robert Hoffman as boyfriend Ricky - he is very funny in an impressive performance. And the CGI aliens are very well designed, animated, and integrated into the live action, as well as having some solid voice talent on board.
