hyped garbage
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
Away from Miami into another dance competition that is. This is a direct sequel to the last Step up, which hadn't happened yet. The character Moose seems to be in all of them (and he is except for the first one, even if you could swear he was in every single one of them, like I did and thought), but other than that, there didn't seem to be a string/continuity apart from a story that seemed to be the same over and over again ... something a reviewer has stated here ... forgetting that Step Up Revolution tried to break the formula. If that was successful or not we do get most of the same players (good guys) from the previous one, still looking for a job (and love apparently). And that's where this gets back to the classic story. With one minor "dent" if you want to call it that, which gets fixed by the end of it. There are some slick moves and I'm pretty sure some of the things will look great in 3D (only watched it in 2D though). Don't watch it for originality, only if you like the "genre"
I've been a step up fan for a long time, and I've them all in DVDs. Unfortunately this one too (waste of money). My friend watched this movie in the cinema when it first came out and she told me it was GREAT! So I kind of had high expectations! But they are all crashed now. Anyways, this movie was predicted, horrid, and was full of repetitive dancing. But what drove me crazy was the poor acting. The cast were all dancers NOT ACTORS!!!! I was bored the whole time and to be honest i almost fell asleep a few times (I AM NOT KIDDING, IT'S THAT BAD). The only reason I gave five stars (which it originally deserves three) is because I loved The MOB! Yes i do. Step Up 4 aka Step Up revolution was amazing to be honest. I enjoyed the whole dancing thing, it was different if you asked me, i watched the whole movie twice in a day! I couldn't be any more exciting then the dancers first showed up and then they disappeared? wtf! Anyways, i actually was very much irritated at Sean and i thought he was a jerk. And the other star i gave was because of the ending. It was so predicted but i enjoyed seeing them all together. I need to say one thing more! I HATED ALEXA WITH PASSION.I rolled my eyes pretty much all the time she showed up. Fake, horrible, ugly acting! I am sorry if i sound rude, Izabella is so pretty but screw the director who couldn't fit her in a better character!
My review is totally different from other's opinion. I absolutely love the Step Up franchises. My favorites are Step Up (1), Step Up Revolution and now Step Up All In. I love all dancing movies, but this franchise I love the best. Especially because Channing Tatum started them and Ryan Guzman is now in the last two. Love these two young men, they can dance their butts off and do it well.**If you haven't seen them yet, and you really want to see some good dancing, if you don't look at anything, skip to the Finale of Step Up All In. Love the choreography. Well worth the money to go (100 times) and now to see the DVD.I couldn't wait for the DVD's, so I can look at them while working at my two jobs. I supported 2 and 3 by buying the DVD's, but view 1, 4 and 5 weekly. So yes, I disagree with the other reviews, bring on as many as you want for my viewing. Love it, Love Ryan and Channing. (^:^)
Everything about this movie sucked. Well, everything but the camera work. Acting is horrible, the whole movie is illogical. Breaking into dancing wherever - cops, security don't care. The forced drama and childish behavior (did I mention poor acting?).Prior installments were at least somewhat realistic, you had a connection with the main character(s).. Not here. everything is just lumped into one big mess of "big show".. and what's up with the Girl on Fire references? Couldn't come up with something better?very sad that we paid to see this garbage
