Nice effects though.
Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
GHOSTBUSTERS 2 (1989) is a beautifully made film!!! IVAN REITMAN is a BRILLIANT director & a comedy genius!!! GHOSTBUSTERS 2 is better than the first FILM!!! with more Heart & charm This time around in Ghostbusters 2 it's also much more exciting & has a real sinister Atmosphere, there's so much done better this time around, and With a darker tone & a better more beautiful music score by Randy Edelman & AMAZING FX this movie REALLY stands out as a better film. I Grew up watching,Loving & being obsessed with Ghostbusters 1&2 & i LOVE those movies but i always loved GHOSTBUSTERS 2 more, i could NEVER understand all the ridiculous pathetic & completely unnecessary Hate this great film got? As a sequel it's perfect yes a perfect sequel!!! It's fun & witty & FEELGOOD & Happy & dark & creepy all weaved together to make a BRILLIANT fantasy Comedy!!! A BRILLIANT movie in it's own right that has a much better main villain/monster in vigo than the first film,we also get so much more fun between the 4 Ghostbusters such nice scenes like the Toaster scene & the dana & baby oscar scenes at venkmans apartment & really creepy cool scenes like the ghost train & spiked heads & the slime bathtub scene & the classic courtroom scene!!! Really it's a better film than the first & this has much better music, that's my opinion!!! It's really a feelgood fun fantasy Comedy adventure with everyone on board having a good time & dan aykroyd is loving it all as ray stantz & Murray is having silly fun you can feel it watching them on screen & it's BEAUTIFUL!!! Although similar to first film this has done everything better, the interactions between the guys are more fun & natural flowing & again very quotable & c'mon how iconicis the RIVER OF SLIME!!! All the unique imagery is life lasting & special, who could ever forget the big old Vigo painting? Or like i said the pink River of Slime? Or the Scoleri brothers? There's so much great stuff in this movie. The more mature darker tone is so needed in a fantasy film about Ghosts!!! The first played it simply for laughs but here everything is more scarier & sinister & more threatening!!! Ghostbusters 2 holds that very dear spot in my heart that warm feeling i get watching this film never goes away it's truly a childhood classic of mine & i can't say enough lovely things about this Great film except just enjoy it & see how good it makes you feel!!! A comedy CLASSIC that never gets boring & I've watched this movie hundreds of times!!! I love GHOSTBUSTERS 2. EVERYTHING about Ghostbusters 2 is much BETTER than the first FILM. Also DAN AYKROYD is a comedy genius & movie LEGEND & my favourite Actor!!! GHOSTBUSTERS 2 makes my Top Spot my number 1 movie of all time.
With the evil spirit of a Carpathian tyrant feeding off the Big Apple's negative energy (which takes the form of a subterranean river of pink goop), and numerous spooks running wild in the city (including Slimer, of course), the Ghostbusters are called upon to kick some more supernatural ass, much to the chagrin of the mayor. In other words, Ghostbusters II is virtually identical to the first film in terms of plot, only it's a lot less funny, far less creepy, and features not one, but two terrible theme songs (Bobby Brown's forgettable 'On Our Own' and the horribly dated 'Ghostbusters Rap' by Run-D.M.C.—no match for Ray Parker Jr.'s catchy 'Ghostbusters').The stars of the first film are all back, obviously happy to take a great big pay check for reprising their roles, no matter how lame and uninspired the script is. As if to see just how much garbage Ghostbusters fans are willing to take, the movie closes with a nauseatingly jingoistic Stay Puft-style finalé in which our jump-suited heroes bring to life that symbol of American greatness, The Statue of Liberty, in order to defeat the evil foreign threat, much to the delight of cheering New Yorkers. About the only positive thing I can say about Part II is that it isn't as bad as the recent remake. Nearly, but not quite.2.5 out of 10, rounded up to 3 for the decent special effects, which have held up pretty well.
Ghostbusters II is a good continuation , at least in my opinion, I found fun and funny as the first , plus the script is a little lazy, because they do not have anything new , except the villain , the direction is still the Reitman the main cast is much of the supporting cast around for this film , I found the villain of the film with a half story dull, some gain even more prominence , the soundtrack is very good, the effects are better , the film is fun continues with unnecessary time and insufferable characters , the acting is good , some are mediocre , the more largely are competent , and the last 30 minutes in my opinion are very good. Note 7.8
Five years after the original Ghostbuster, the four paranormal exterminators return for a second and final adventure. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson all return as Dr. Peter Vankman, Dr. Raymond Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore respectively. They have been banned from investigating paranormal activity since their first adventure, but a new case draws them back. Sigourney Weaver also reprises her role as the haunted Dana Barrett who has a son who has become the object of obsession of an evil wizard Vigo (Wilhelm von Homburg) trapped inside a painting. The Ghostbusters discover a running river of slime beneath the city. The slime is reactive to emotions and thrives off of negative energy, but also dances to music.Check out more of this review and others at swilliky.com
