I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Mulan 2 is completely different from the first Mulan. It involves a tragic story about how the emperor of China sells his three daughters off to be married to princes whom they have never met to make a peace offering and end the war. Mulan could never imagine such pain as she is marrying the man she loves , general Shang. It is Mulan and Shang's mission to take the princesses to the princes. General shang hires three guards who are just a wreck but good enough to protect them. They are also hopeless romantic's , as are the princesses. Throughout the whole movie the guards and the princesses slowly fall in love with each other and one night decide to sneak out together to go to a festival in town . While in the meantime , Mulan's guardian Mushu , a dragon tries to ruin her and Shang's relationship so he doesn't loose his pedestal. Mei and Yao become a pair , Ling and Ting Ting , and Chien Po and Su. Mulan finds out and is extremely happy for them but soon after Shang wakes up and goes to the festival very upset . He ends their relationship and continued to take them to the princes. On the way Shang and everyone are ambushed by bandits , cutting the bridge , Shang let's go and falls off to save Mulan. Mulan morning him goes to the other emperor and demands that she she take the princesses places . She proceeded to get married but then Shang shows up , saves the day , marries Mulan , and the princesses live happily ever after. Everybody wins . It's a sweet movie and has alot of humor, romance , and some sad parts in it . I would highly recommend it to anyone .
Mulan was fine where it left off. But, what did Disney do? "Let's make a sequel!" I saw this the first time when I wasn't so brutal on film, and I thought it was, "Eh." But, I watched it again. Oh, it got under my skin! I got completely sucked into a black hole-like state of mind, losing all form of reality I had in the first place. I kind of started yelling at the screen whenever a stupid-ass decision was made by one of the characters. I do hate it, but not as much as The Fox and the Hound 2.
Most of the time during this movie I face-palmed. The songs are stupid, the returning characters are either stupid or completely mean- spirited. I almost shouted at the screen when I saw what an asshole Mushu turned into! That one hit really hard! Along with a message that is just lame. Especially under these circumstances they are presented this is just garbage. In the original this "follow your heart" was equally balanced with a logical side which said "my father is not able to make it through this" and "I will take his place and save China from the Huns". THEY STUCK TO SAVING CHINA, GODDAMMIT! Here this "follow your heart" is completely illogical and almost unforgivable. This arranged marriage is to save china from war! But that is not important to Mulan, oooh, it is not right, oooh, my duty is to my heart, BLAH!
The first movie was a great movie, but it was held back by a few major flaws.1. Mushu 2. The Mulan man voice 3. The not needed romance Now take those flaws, times them by a thousand, and you have this movie. Mushu is even more annoying here then in the first movie which is saying a lot. Now get this. This movie such an greedy cash grab that Eddie Murphy didn't even want to be in it. The guy who said yes to Shrek the Third, Norbit, and Pluto Nash didn't want to waste his time with this sh*t. Now that is sad. The guy who got to play him is 100 times more annoying. Every second I hear that voice I feel my hand getting closer to a gun. The man voice isn't in this movie (Thank you). Then again the stupid not needed romance in the first movie is the main focus in this. The fact is they did not have to give Mulan a romance. The real Mulan did not fall in love with one of the people she fought alongside. The movie was trying to inspire little girls to be more than just girls, but no Mulan has to get married like every last woman in Disney. Although at least in the first movie we didn't know what was going to happen to their relationship. So you can make whatever you wanted to out of the future, but this movie shows up to tell us that everything went all OK. Kiss my @$$!!!! Also the songs just like every other Disney sequel aren't impressive at all. The characters lack as much personality, and the jokes suck. Overall this movie is just a mess.0 stars out of 4
