Best movie of this year hands down!
It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
With a parade of great names in its ensemble cast, this movie really disappoint in overall. The story tried really hard to be intriguing, using all those black and white coloration, and the back and forth story flow. But at the core the story just emerges as one that is merely predictable. With all those big names on as by-standing characters, audiences surely get easily alarmed and guess who's the really bad guy in the movie. Having Gina Carano as the main character surely isn't the best choice. She made the character looked flat, despite the movie's attempt to enrich Mallory's character. Acting wise, this one is a strange pick. As Gina Carano made her character bad, the rest of the big names in the cast okay to give live to their parts.
How low can you go? Steven Soderbergh, an Oscar-winning filmmaker, has ended up making bottom-of-the-shelf DTV fare. I should have realized when I saw the truly awful cover art this this movie was complete garbage. How he and experienced writer Lem Dobbs could churn out something as bad as this is really quite an eye-opener.The plot is presented non-chronologically in order to make it seem more complex when it actually just makes it confusing and boring. I just could not follow it and eventually lost interest. Gina Carano plays a Spook who is set-up or sold-out or...something. Then everyone is trying to kill her and she fights back and blah, blah, blah. Absolute trash.Carano's acting was (apparently) not that bad, but I have heard that she was dubbed over with Laura San Giacomo. Not sure if there is any truth to this, but it is very odd if so. Many actors pop up for dismissive cameos including Michael Fassbender, an actor who's entire skeleton is made up of cuboid-shaped Lego bricks and someone I am sick to death of seeing in movies, and Ewan McGregor losing the battle with an American accent.Haywire is a cure for insomnia. It's a fast way to get bored. Miss it!
First, i really liked the fighting scenes, they came without needles cuts and were well executed. Also, the first girl that runs like a man, or just how it should look when someone runs properly.... but the rest is so bad. Gina, although I like her, can't act at all. She acts like a beautiful mummy. No face expression that matches the scenes well. The casting was awful too. It really looked like some top acts try to act like some B-Movie actors.... looked wired. McGregor is to big a Star as could he plausible play such a looser running away from a "girl". You could read in all of those faces "When do I get my money...?".Storyline is so meh. James Bond type hero gets betrayed by his bosses and starts a revenge. Must be the first Movie of this kind ^^.And who did the light? Or was that absolute horrid stage lighting made on purpose, so you only saw her face half of the time in the hole movie? No thrill at all, literally hours of running and chasing and you never get these goosebumps, cause you wont fear something could happen to the main cast. This movie purpose is only to grab your money.
Absolute drivel. Everyone involved in the film should be slapped and sent to bed early without their tea. Please spend your time watching something else. If you much watch it look out for the tumbleweed, it was totally the highlight for me.The acting is weak, the plot in disarray and, as another reviewer has already stated, the film just ends with no explanation or conclusion. Not like a French film ending, it just stops as it the director had something better to do than finish the final scene. An embarrassment to the genre. With the caliber of the cast I had expected much more. I've watched many terrible films before, but this is the first that has motivated me to get an IMDb account and write a review to warn others!
