Detectives Jimmy and Paul, despite nine years as partners, can still sometimes seem like polar opposites—especially when Paul's unpredictable antics get them suspended without pay. Already strapped for cash and trying to pay for his daughter's wedding, Jimmy decides to sell a rare baseball card that's worth tens of thousands. Unfortunately, when the collector's shop is robbed and the card vanishes with the crook, Paul and Jimmy end up going rogue, tracking down the card and the drug ring behind its theft, all on their own time and without any backup—except for each other.

Very disappointing...
That was an excellent one.
A Major Disappointment
It's one of the most original films you'll likely see all year, which, depending on your threshold for certifiably crazy storylines, could be a rewarding experience or one that frustrates you.
From Trivia: "The screenplay was in the 2008 Black List (a list of the best unproduced screenplays)."Maybe "Black List" was blacklisted for a reason. The whole premise is shite, no idea why anyone would bother with this boring screenplay.Maybe it's the fact that no actor in this movie is actually funny. The try hard black guy, the wooden white guy or the boring brown people. Can't tell who was the worst.Wanna watch a funny buddy cop movie? Go watch "The Other Guys", which is hilarious and actors in it are actually funny. As for this mess, generic plot, boring movie, as funny as bashing your head against a wall.
Cop out - nice easy watching popcorn comedy. A movie for the end of the week when all you want is to turn your brain off. Like i said, easy to watch, however! Someone pedantic like me got very frustrated with the dodgy editing & poor continuity! No one enjoys jumpy scene changes or feeling like you've jumped across 2 minutes of the story because the editing has been cut together very poorly. A few laugh out loud moments - especially the reference to die hard at the beginning. Not Bruces finest moment in acting but Tracey was very funny. Would like to have seen a bit more of Adam Brody & Seann William Scott Seann WS a highlight Why do i feel like he needs his own spin off movie with this character!?! Lol. This film reminds me a lot of 'the other guys' or in fact any other cop buddy movie which makes it feel a tad generic. But hey, whats wrong with that sometimes! Ideal movie for a first date or Friday night chill I did enjoy this movie but its not going to make you have a moment of self reflection or change your life!
Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan) are arguing NYPD partners in Brooklyn for 9 years. After a botched surveillance operation, they are suspended for a month by Captain Jack Romans without pay. Jimmy needs $48k for his daughter Ava (Michelle Trachtenberg)'s wedding. Stepfather Roy offers to pay and Jimmy takes offense. He tries to sell his valuable baseball card worth $83k but he is robbed by small time thieve Dave (Seann William Scott). Paul suspects his wife Debbie (Rashida Jones) is cheating on him with the next door neighbor Henry. It turns out that Dave sold the card to gang leader Poh Boy (Guillermo Díaz) who makes a deal with the guys to find his missing car.Tracy Morgan is going so wild that he's almost flailing for laughs. The chemistry with Willis never gets great but there are a couple of fun laughs. It's great to have Willis reference 'Die Hard' by claiming have never seen it. There are individual cute references and some funny moments but the overall sense is a mess of a buddy cop comedy. This could have been better with the talents involved. It feels like a comedy that is trying so hard that it falls flat.
The stories Smith tells about the making of this movie and his falling out with Willis are a 1000 times funnier and more entertaining than this flick will ever be. It tries to mimic these 80's cop buddy movies and they even got Harold Faltermeyer to do the music but it just doesn't work. There is no chemistry between Willis & Morgan, the jokes are bland, the action is pretty standard and sidekicks like Sean William Scott can't save it from being a total waste of screen space. The plot is riddled with clichés and is as predictable as hell so it's surprising it was on 'The Blacklist' of best unproduced scripts. It had better stayed that way...
