"I, Robot" is not your average sci-fi flick. It has some deep and rich themes. It is very human in a robot way. I know it sounds weird, but when you watch it, you know what I mean. Will Smith is a very realistic character. Though there are some cliches at times. But those are minor complaints. The visuals are stunning, because of the fact that this was released in 2004. I, Human Being recommend this. It's not flawless, but it's definitely a solid take on robots.
Will Smiths Character is such a total asshole - how could anyone enjoy watching this. Also he is supposed to be a detective (someone with intelligence) not some asshole bitching about his ex wife and insulting and dising everyone he meets -including his mother. Unbelievably dumb and obnoxious. Some role model - not - Fail. What a waste of good CGI, many people worked hard and well on this film. Unfortunately Will Smith and the Director did not. Tom Cruise, now there's a man that puts heart into his roles.
It seems that among the points that this movie trying to make is legalizing murder if it's being done by A.I, some sort of license to kill that was given to James Bond gangs. Computers programs are tools similar to a gun or a knife or whatever other tools or weapons used to do crimes; if there are some controllers doing these murders using computers programming then they are still criminals. License to lead maybe had been given to these controllers but never license to kill.
I enjoyed it and thats all that matters. Some scenes were a little ridiculous. I, Robot provides a fun mystery with a few predictable, but interesting, turns. The mystery aspect is clever enough to keep you guessing without frustrating you to the point of taking you out of the movie. You'll care about it right up until the point you realize that the movie is actually a summer blockbuster and your thinking cap should be put on the backburner while you're bombarded with one action scene after the next. ---From Yidioo
