Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

No doubt Aziz can be really funny and deliver lines and I am a huge fan of his character in parks and recreation, but there wasn't a decent joke or story in the entire show. I felt like the show was meant for teenagers who still find using dirty words and being crass, funny. If you still laugh when somebody uses a dirty word you might enjoy it, if you've got to the point where the actual joke containing the word still needs to be funny in itself, you've outgrown this type of humor.Aziz, stick to delivering lines written by somebody else, you don't have the talent to write them yourself.Sorry bud, harsh but true.

Tried to watch this and ended up turning it off. It was so UNFUNNY, I never even chuckled, not once! Imagine a nerdy guy at a frat party trying really hard to be funny, for an hour straight. He only uses the most crude language and most ridiculously absurd situations he can possibly imagine, yet it comes off flat. Blowing off 4 hippopotamus? Shooting lap dogs in the face? Seriously? The audience response was mediocre at best too. A sign of very poor material. Surprised people didn't ask for their money back and walk out on him. Pathetic. I couldn't recommend this to anyone but young teenagers who are of an extremely low brow mentality. No wonder this poor schlep can't get laid.

In this second special, Aziz shares his obsession with semen, particularly large amounts of it. He also frequently comes back to fellatio (both with people and large mammals) and having sex with bowls and buckets of very inappropriate things. I hate to be gross in a review, but that is pretty much where it goes for the hour. There are some good jokes about racism (and Star Wars), we get updates on his pudgy cousin Harris, and there is an allegedly true story about an encounter with 50 Cent at a restaurant.Overall, if this same material was presented by someone else, it would probably not be funny. Any college guy talks and says things like this. But Aziz has an excellent sense of delivery, and makes even the most immature and juvenile jokes seem brilliant. I look forward to special three.

Aziz Ansari performs in front of an appreciative audience in Washington D.C. in this fairly good stand-up show.Ansari performs with a good level of energy, but it seems to be anger channeled at his audience with a goodly peppering of words bleeped out on Comedy Central. Anger is a good basis for comedy, but his basic shtick is that he never gets what he wants in the way of women or good use of his time, but it is all about trivia: his lame come-ons at parties or how he wastes his time on the Internet on trivia or internet porn sites. The net result is a series of well-told jokes and stories aimed at a similarly placed audience or one that will be able to empathize from a slightly more mature viewpoint. It's not to my taste, but it may be to yours.
